Equality NE Ltd was launched in 1994 as part of a national initiative supported by the DfEE and the Equal Opportunities Commission. It became an independent, not for profit Company Limited by Guarantee in 1997. The general aim of the organisation is to work towards removing the barriers to equality in employment, ultimately improving economic and social life for all.
The non executive Board of Equality NE is made up of members from the public, private and voluntary sectors including organisations representing disadvantaged groups. As a partnership organisation we have access to a wide range of expertise on equality and diversity issues.
