North Tyneside Education Business Partnership
TWEBLO - Tyne and Wear Education Business Link Organisation
The North Tyneside Education Business Partnership has been established to release the potential of young people in North Tyneside so that they gain the knowledge, competence and attitudes to help develop:

• the community;
• the economy of the area;
• life long opportunities for education, training and employment.

Aims
North Tyneside EBP aims to help employers, schools, colleges and training providers to work together in order to release the potential of all young people by:

• Developing the personal and employability skills of young people
• Helping to tackle under performance
• Preparing young people for the transition from education to the working world and working life
• Contributing to long term sustained economic regeneration
• Generating added value from the contributions of business partners the region, most of who support activities and work experience placements for young people. It promotes and delivers a wide range of curriculum activities linked to the world of work. It hosts a large number of pupils and places a significant number of their teachers into industry.

Priorities
The EBP will support schools in raising achievement by:

• Linking the work of the EBP to North Tyneside's EDP
• Addressing under-performance paying particular regard to the issues of motivation, the relevance of learning, tackling disaffection and mitigating social exclusion
• Supporting the development of employability skills in all phases of education
• Promoting the wider participation agenda
• Further promoting the Partnership to employers and other organisations
• Emphasising the themes of technology, science, literacy, numeracy and ICT
• Developing a close partnership with TWEBLO.
• Developing a close partnership with EBPs in Sunderland, Newcastle, South Tyneside and Gateshead.
