Students into Schools programme. Newcastle University has addressed the need for their graduates to gain key skills to enhance their employability. By incorporating this module of worked-based learning into the curriculum, (that can also count towards a degree) students are able to: enhance their own and others' learning experiences raise the achievements and aspirations of young pupils enhance their employability and work-based skills, such as self-management, initiative and problem solving produce a portfolio of evidence that illustrates the key skills gained. Alternatively, students who are unable to take the module for academic credit, can get involved on a voluntary basis - and still gain the valuable transferable skills this module develops.
